THA_monkey
Well...this is hardly Hot pursuit 2, but nowhere else to post. Seeing as CD is the only driving fanboy, he has probably seen this...but I will post it anyway
EA rices up Need For Speed Electronic Arts today announced Need for Speed Underground, currently under development by the Need For Speed Hot Pursuit 2 team. The game features a breakthrough sensation of speed, developed by an "OSCAR nominated special effects expert," and an exciting lineup of licensed cars and aftermarket performance parts (mods) from top manufacturers. Need for Speed Underground allows gamers to build a completely unique exotic ride by earning cash to pay for custom body kits and a host of car mods by winning events. But just creating the ultimate custom street racing machine will not get a racer to the top; it takes a certain amount of attitude and razor sharp driving skills to compete in the tough world of urban racing. A number of diverse events set in gritty, nighttime environments make up the heart of street competition. Players become complete street racers by perfecting skills in each event; by nailing the perfect shift in drag racing, and by putting their street cred on the line, racing through the city streets late at night. The game features 20 fully customizable licensed cars from Mitsubishi Motors, Subaru

Tha_Rainman
Nope. No media released yet. Its only an announcement of its development. There's no mention of it even on the official need for speed website. harry_pothead
CD is more of a car fanboy than French (not, lol) is a flightsim fanboy..... or maybe it only appears so because amara never gets excited because he already knows everything that happens in FS land..... Tha_Rainman
Some screenshots were released released recently. (Thanks for letting me know tha_monkey B) ). Anyway, here they are. The graphics look damn good IMO. Hope it plays just as well. These seem to be from a street race like in F&F. Good stuff!! Edited May 13, 2003 by Tha_Rainman

Tha_Rainman
Even the street lights look so realistic. Just like in Splinter Cell. I'm going to keep a close eye on the NFS sites before I miss other stuff like this!!!

THA_monkey
Wow they really went over the top, on the unrealistic looking reflections. Why is a mirror car, driving on a huge mirror? B) Haven't played any of the recent NFS games...just some of the old ones on the psx
Mr. Burns
yea, they might have a bit exagerated on the reflection (and colors ) <-- but you got to admit... a bit fancy doesn't hurt!.. it looks totally amazing!! I'd love to drive a golden car with a dragon on it... it looks great (i think richard would agree on the dragon part B) )
Tha_Rainman
Well, cars in reality appear a lot shinier up close. I don't know if they went as far as making it so realistic... (who knows they might ). Another reason these are shiny is probably because they are totally modded and customized 'extreme' street racers. The likes of what comes in the Fast and the Furious. They tend to be quite 'highly polished' don't they But I agree with you, you don't everyday cars that shiny on the street (at least I haven't seen any yet). Yet it still look cool IMO! THA_monkey
I was thinking more of the mirror they were driving on. Just prelim shots so nothing to go on whatsoever.
